The March Uprising: Justice in Motion
The March Uprising: Justice. Love. Legacy.
A 21‑Day Movement Rooted in Dignity
Every March, our community faces a truth we cannot ignore: too many of our neighbors are surviving without the essentials that protect dignity, health, and hope. At WWX17, we have spent nearly a decade walking alongside individuals experiencing homelessness, and we have learned that dignity is not a luxury, it is a lifeline.
This year, we are launching something bold, grounded, and deeply personal: The March Uprising: Justice. Love. Legacy. From March 1–21, we are mobilizing our city to meet a simple but powerful goal: to ensure every neighbor has access to clean underwear, hygiene essentials, and the basic items that restore identity and self‑worth.
Why We Call It an Uprising
This is not a charity drive. It is a movement.
An uprising is what happens when a community refuses to look away. It is what happens when we choose justice over judgment, love over distance, and legacy over silence. It is what happens when we decide that every person, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to be seen, honored, and supported.
The Story Behind the Movement
The March Uprising was born from years of outreach in Fort Worth’s most overlooked spaces, under bridges, in encampments, in abandoned buildings, and in the quiet corners where people go when they feel forgotten. Over and over, we heard the same words:
“I just want to feel clean.” “I want to feel like myself again.” “I want to feel human.”
These are not small requests. They are reminders that dignity is foundational.
What We’re Providing
During the 21 days of the March Uprising, WWX17 will distribute:
new underwear (men, women, youth)
menstrual products
soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes
wipes and survival essentials
dignity kits for high school students and teen parents
support for families navigating housing instability
These items may seem simple, but they are transformative. Clean underwear can prevent infection. Hygiene products can restore confidence. A dignity kit can help a student return to school. A small act can shift a life.
Centering Our Youth and Teen Parents
This year, the March Uprising also lifts up a group often overlooked in conversations about homelessness: teen parents and high school students facing instability.
Through our partnerships with local schools, we see how lack of basic essentials contributes to absenteeism, dropout rates, and emotional distress. When a student doesn’t have deodorant, clean underwear, or menstrual products, school becomes a place of shame, not learning.
The March Uprising changes that.
A Movement Rooted in Legacy
WWX17 was founded in honor of Wesley, Waymond II, and living Legacy Kristopher Xavier—two lives that shaped our commitment to justice, dignity, and community care. Their legacy lives in every outreach moment, every dignity kit, every restored smile, and every neighbor who feels seen.
The March Uprising is not just an event. It is a continuation of that Legacy.
How You Can Join the Uprising
Movements grow when people move.
You can join us by:
donating $25 to provide a full dignity kit
giving $50 to support a teen parent
sponsoring a school with $250 in essentials
sharing the March Uprising with your network
volunteering during distribution days
Every act—large or small—pushes the movement forward.
Why This Matters Now
Homelessness is not just a housing issue. It is a dignity issue. It is a grief issue. It is a justice issue. And it is a community issue.
The March Uprising is our collective declaration that we will not wait for systems to change before we act. We will meet the need now, with love, clarity, and purpose.
