Legacy in Action: Justice That Outlives Us

A Reflection on the 10th Annual WayWesX17 Give-Away At WWX17 , we don’t measure impact by numbers alone. We measure it by memory. By return. By the systems we build to ensure no one is forgotten. This December 6th marks the 10th Annual WayWesX17 Give-Away , a tradition born from the lives of Wesley and Waymond II —two brothers, two sons, whose stories shaped our mission and whose legacy continues to guide our every step. What began as a sidewalk act of love has grown into a citywide BluePrint for Justice ,  Love and Legacy . Justice, for us, is not a sentiment. It’s a system.   It’s the second pillar of our Framework in Action series—following Love, and leading toward Legacy. And this year, Legacy showed up in socks, systems, and solidarity. Sock Solidarity: 10 Years with Bombas   Legacy   means partnership. And for 10 years , WWX17 has partnered with Bombas Socks to bring warmth, dignity, and design to our unhoused neighbors. Justice by Design: How WWX17 Makes Equity Visible WWX17 Justice BluePrint — Framework in Action Series (Part 2)

Justice by Design: How WWX17 Makes Equity Visible   WWX17 Justice BluePrint — Framework in Action Series (Part 2) At WWX17 , Justice is not a sentiment. It’s a system. It’s the second pillar of our Framework in Action series—a reflection on the values that shape our work: Love . Justice . Legacy . If Love is how we begin, Justice is how we build.   Justice is the architecture behind every flyer, every outreach route, every supervision rubric, and every moment of presence.   It’s how we ensure that every neighbor is not only seen—but centered. BluePrint Justice doesn’t just challenge systems—it reshapes them. It listens to the lived experience of those left behind and transforms suffering into policy, memo. Justice Is Architectural Justice at WWX17 is intentional.   It’s not just about fairness—it’s about design.   It’s not just about access—it’s about accountability. We build systems that restore dignity:  Outreach maps...

Love First: Why Every Outreach Begins With Dignity

Wesley was born on October 13, 1990.   He lived 23 minutes.   And he changed everything. At WWX17 , we begin with Love , not as sentiment, but as structure. Love is the foundation of our outreach, the first principle of our BluePrint , and the reason we return year after year. In 2015, we served 230 unhoused neighbors. In 2024, we reached 950 lives. That’s a 313% increase in impact. But growth at WWX17 is never just numerical—it’s narrative. Every number is a name. Every name is a legacy. And every legacy begins with Love . This post marks the beginning of our Framework in Action series, a three-part reflection on the values that shape our work: Love . Justice . Legacy . Before we launch the " $23 for 23 " campaign on November 11, we return to the foundation that holds it all together. Wesley’s 23 Minutes Wesley’s life reminds us that impact isn’t measured in time, it’s measured in presence. In intention. In how we show up. At WWX17 , we show up with Love f...
