Justice in the Heat, Dignity in the Details
π₯ Hot Time in the City 2026: Justice in the Heat, Dignity in the Details
On July 11, 2026, from 10 AM to 1 PM π , WWX17 will host our 4th Annual Hot Time in the City in Fort Worth, Texas — a heat‑relief activation designed for neighbors facing the harshest realities of Texas summer. This year’s event is more than a distribution. It is a Health Access & Restoration Hub ❤️π©Ή, grounded in our BluePrint: Justice. Love. Legacy.
Last month, we shared how we are strengthening our internal systems — building the hiring workflow, structure, and capacity needed to uphold our 30/90/180 Promise. That work continues behind the scenes.
But this summer, we return to the field.
Because Justice requires both.
Why Hot Time in the City Matters
Texas heat is predictable.
Harm is preventable.
Systems are responsible. π
For our unhoused neighbors, older adults, individuals with chronic illness, and families without stable cooling, July becomes a month of survival. Last year, a neighbor told us quietly, “I didn’t think anyone saw me out here.”
Hot Time in the City is built for moments like that — moments where people feel seen, remembered, and worth returning to.
In 2025, WWX17 served 5,255 individuals, reflecting a 1,990% increase in impact since 2015. And as of October 2025, WWX17 is now an internationally recognized NGO, expanding both our reach and our responsibility.
This year, the need is greater — and so is our readiness.
What We Will Bring to the Heat
This year’s event will include:
π§ Water + electrolyte drinks
π§ Cooling towels
π Sunscreen
π Snacks + ready‑to‑eat items
π§Ό Hygiene kits
π Comfort apparel
π©Ί Basic medical screenings
π¦· Dental education + oral‑care support
❤️π©Ή Mental wellness check‑ins
Every item is chosen with intention. Every interaction is grounded in dignity. Every moment is designed to protect life, honor humanity, and build trust.
What Is a Health Access & Restoration Hub?
Our Health Access & Restoration Hub ❤️π©Ή is a mobile, dignity‑centered space where neighbors can receive:
π©Ί Basic health screenings
❤️ Wellness check‑ins
π¦· Oral‑health education
π‘️ Prevention guidance
π€ Connection to long‑term care and services
It is a public‑health activation rooted in Justice — not charity.
How This Event Connects to the 30/90/180 Promise
Hot Time in the City is not a one‑day act of kindness.
It is a continuity touchpoint π — a doorway into the 30/90/180 Promise.
Through this event, we:
Identify neighbors who need ongoing support
Begin 30‑day follow‑up for housing, employment, and benefits navigation
Connect families to Wesley’s Diaper Pantry
Offer pathways to Legacy Activation & Systemic Navigation
Build relationships that last beyond the heat
This is how we move from moment‑based care to a model that returns.
The Work Behind the Work: Interns, Identity, and the BluePrint
What the community sees on July 11 is only the surface.
Behind the scenes, our Summer Cohort is building the communication engine that powers this event.
Every intern rotates through three lanes:
π₯ Heat Safety + Heat Awareness
π£ Event Promotion + Volunteer Engagement
π Systems Messaging + Data Education
Each week, they produce:
π¨ One heat/event/systems graphic
π One educational or data‑based post
✍π½ One caption
π¬ One engagement prompt
❤️ One dignity‑centered message
And every deliverable must be fully polished, finalized, and ready to post.
Their work shapes how our community understands heat risk, dignity, and systems responsibility. The content they create today becomes the awareness, education, and engagement that brings our community to the table on July 11.
This is identity work.
This is Legacy work.
This is WWX17.
Why This Year Is Different
This is our first Hot Time in the City as:
π An international NGO
π A team operating under the 30/90/180 Promise
π©Ί A public‑health activation with mental, dental, and medical partners
𧱠An organization with strengthened internal systems and hiring workflows
We carry Wesley, Waymond II, and Kristopher with us into every season of the work — including the heat. ✨
We are not the same organization we were four years ago.
We are building a model — one that returns, remembers, and restores.
π₯ CALL TO ACTION: Build With Us This Summer
