WWX17 2025 Annual Impact: A Decade of Movement, Memory, and Systemic Change

WWX17 2025 Annual Impact: A Decade of Movement, Memory, and Systemic Change

In 2025, The WayWesX17 Homeless Project stepped into a new era — one defined by global recognition, deeper community reach, and a decade of transforming grief into strategy. What began in 2015 as a tribute to Wesley and Waymond II has grown into a justice-rooted, internationally engaged movement serving thousands across Fort Worth, Arlington, and Tarrant County.

This year’s impact reflects more than numbers. It reflects memory in motion, legacy in action, and a community that continues to show up with dignity, consistency, and care.

Texas-Rooted. Globally Resonant. Now an International NGO.

In October 2025, WWX17 became an internationally recognized NGO, expanding our ability to advocate, collaborate, and redesign systems of care across borders. This milestone honors the lives that shaped our mission — Wesley’s 23 minutes, Waymond II’s 23 years, and Kristopher Xavier’s living legacy — and positions WWX17 as a global voice for justice-centered community care.

A Decade of Growth: From 230 Served to 5,255

The numbers tell a powerful story:

  • 2015: 230 individuals served

  • 2025: 5,255 individuals served

  • Ten-year increase: 1,990%

This growth isn’t accidental. It’s the result of intentional design, grief-informed strategy, and partnerships that honor dignity over charity. Each year, WWX17 has expanded its reach, strengthened its systems, and deepened its commitment to meeting people where they are.

Volunteers & Interns: The Heartbeat of the Movement

In 2025, WWX17 volunteers and MSW interns contributed:

  • 2,112 volunteer hours

  • $73,476 in economic value

  • 8 MSW graduate interns from USC, Howard University, and Case Western Reserve

  • 1,800 internship hours across research, advocacy, and program development

Their service strengthened every corner of our work — from outreach to research to operational capacity.

Wesley’s Diaper Pantry: Dignity Delivered Monthly

Powered by the JLFW Diaper Bank and school partners, Wesley’s Diaper Pantry provided:

  • 33,000 diapers, pull-ups, and adult incontinence supplies

  • 165 families served

  • 132 children + 33 adults supported

  • Eight high-need zip codes reached

This program continues to be a lifeline for families experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, and crisis.

Bombas Socks Partnership: A Decade of Dignity

2025 marked the 10th year of our partnership with Bombas Socks.

  • 15,100 pairs of socks distributed

  • Reaching schools, shelters, nursing homes, and community partners across Tarrant County

This partnership remains one of our most consistent dignity-centered outreach efforts.

Quarterly Student Donation Give-Aways

Across six FWISD high schools, WWX17 served:

  • 1,875 students and families

  • Providing hygiene items, basic essentials, and school-ready supplies

These quarterly touchpoints reduce economic strain and strengthen academic stability for students navigating hardship.

SitFitness: Wellness Without Barriers

Led by Pastor Waymond Brown Sr., SitFitness delivered:

  • 460 hours of virtual wellness programming

  • 1,840 participant touchpoints

This weekly Zoom-based program removes transportation and mobility barriers, offering accessible wellness support to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or chronic conditions.

Hot Time in the City: Heat-Relief With Purpose

The 3rd Annual Hot Time in the City served:

  • 525 individuals

  • Providing hydration, heat-relief essentials, and mobile charging stations

This outreach strengthens community safety during extreme Texas summers.

Shoe Drive Impact: Sustainability in Motion

WWX17’s 2025 Shoe Drive generated:

  • 992 pounds of shoes collected

  • 24,800 lbs of CO₂ displaced

  • 413,000 gallons of water saved

  • Funds directed to school uniforms for children in our system of care

A justice-rooted campaign with environmental and community impact.

Honoring the Legacy of Diva W

For the third year, WWX17 returned to Village Creek Wellness & Rehabilitation:

  • 225 residents and staff served

  • Delivering essentials, presence, and legacy-rooted compassion

This annual outreach ensures that overlooked neighbors remain seen, valued, and remembered.

10th Annual WWX17 Give-Away: A Birthday, A Legacy, A Movement

Held every December in honor of Waymond II’s birthday, the 10th Annual Give-Away served:

  • 625 individuals

  • Despite reduced turnout due to heightened ICE activity

  • Congressman Marc Veasey returned to honor a decade of community-rooted impact

This event remains the heart of WWX17 — a living archive of grief transformed into service.

Looking Ahead: Justice in Motion

WWX17’s BluePrint — Justice. Love. Legacy. — continues to guide our work as we build systems of care that honor survival and redesign justice.

In 2026, we move forward with deeper partnerships, expanded outreach, and a renewed commitment to ensuring no neighbor is left unseen.

Because when dignity is non-negotiable, communities flourish.
